Helen Huppert, 92, of River Falls, was welcomed to eternal life on March 2, 2007, at River Falls Hospital, where she was recovering from a heart attack she had on Feb. 26. She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Beldenville, the daughter of John & Mary Stotka. She married Anthony Huppert on May 18, 1937, and lived on the farm where she was raised for many years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996 and she has lived at Edgewater Apartments since that time.
Myrtle Evelyn Olson, 97, of River Falls and formerly of Ellsworth, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at The Lutheran Home: River Falls. She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in the town of Trimbelle, Pierce County, Wisconsin, to Edward and Selma (Swanson) Olson. Myrtle married Herbert Olson on Sept. 8, 1934, at Svea Lutheran Church in Hager City.
Herbert Joseph Johnson, 90, of River Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at the Kinnic Long Term Care in River Falls. The son of Sam and Rose (Jansa) Johnson, was born on Jan. 27, 1917, at the Bohemian Settlement in Pierce County. On Oct. 27, 1943, Herbert married Lonora M. Cobian at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cherma.
Ruth Bock, age 88 of Spring Valley, died Tuesday, Feb. 20 2007 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at St John's Lutheran Church, Hatchville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, and at church Friday, 1 hour prior to the service. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is handling arrangements.
Rochelle Mary Lansing, age 93 of Spring Valley, Wis., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Spring Valley Health Care Center. Rochelle was born June 14, 1913 in Gilman Township, Pierce County, Wis., the daughter of James and Nellie (Donnelly) Traynor. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in El Paso Township and was presently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring Valley. Rochelle attended elementary school at Olivet and high school at Spring Valley, graduating with the Class of 1928.
Rochelle Lansing, age 93, of Spring Valley, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Spring Valley Health Care Center. Funeral services for Rochelle will be Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Valley with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, El Paso Township, Wis. Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is handling arrangements.
Carl "Sonny" Edward Seymour, 80, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12 at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Burial will be in the spring at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Eugene "Gene" Emerson, 82, of River Falls died Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Lutheran Home in River Falls. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5th at 1:00 pm at Faith Community Church in Hudson. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 pm before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
Jack Helmer, 72, of River Falls, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Ellsworth Care Center. Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at Cashman Mortuary in River Falls, followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery. Cashman Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Hudson accident claims NR man, is year's second fatality A New Richmond man is the county's second traffic fatality of 2007 following a crash in the town of Hudson early Saturday and a Somerset woman was injured.
