Author Jacqueline West inspires young authors

Jacqueline West is the author of the “Books of Elsewhere,” “Dreamers Often Lie” and “The Collectors.” Her poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and her “Books of Elsewhere” fantasy series has appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list. The Ellsworth Library hosted local author Jacqueline West Tuesday, April 30. She sparked area teen writers with a reading of her newest novel "Last Things." Teens composed and read aloud short pieces based on prompts West shared. West is the second young adult author brought in to work with teens this year. Author Shelly Tougas visited the Ellsworth Library in March.
