UW-Eau Claire runs over UW-River Falls in WIAC tournament

There were no upsets Tuesday night in the quarter-finals of the WIAC women's basketball tournament.

The top-four seeds were all victorious on their home floors.

No. 1 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire crushed UW-River Falls 73-43, as Rachel Mueggenborg scored 29 for the Blugolds.

Second-seeded UW-Whitewater eliminated UW-Platteville 93-53 as the Pioneers committed 37 turnovers.

Meanwhile, No. 3 UW-Stevens Point pounded UW-Oshkosh 84-62 and fourth-seeded UW-Stout needed overtime to get by UW-La Crosse 65-63.

The semi-finals will be played Thursday night.

UW-Whitewater will host UW-Stevens Point and UW-Eau Claire will host UW-Stout.

Tonight (Wednesday), the WIAC men's tournament resumes. UW-Whitewater entertains UW-Superior and UW-Stevens Point hosts UW-Eau Claire
