Prescott students knock out spelling bee prelims

Prescott students in grades 3-8 took part in the preliminary round of the National Spelling Bee during the week of Dec. 10. Scores from the tough 20 questions were used to determine the Top 10 students from each grade. These students will move on to the first oral round on Jan. 9, 2019. Congratulations to all participants!

From Prescott Middle School, the Top students for each grade were as follows:

Sixth grade: Kapili Thomason, Lander Macejkovic, Henry Rohl, Ellie Nawrocki, Nicole Lynes, Jocelyn Billeter, Alex Pollard, Aidan Anthony, Jack Kreager, Ken Ryan and Julian Rezac.

Seventh grade: Alayna Allsop, Megan Richter, Avery Pattridge, Nolan Thomley, Cullen Huppert, Cassie Most, Kaylin Rein, Grace Ryan and Quinn Glasby.

Eighth grade: Daniel Bowgren, Tyler Loucks, Rian Engeldinger, Zachary Geerdes, Zack Middleton and Matthew Lynes.
