Ellsworth FFA report: 2019 will be fun, but educational
The Ellsworth FFA hopes to make 2019 just as fun, productive and educational as 2018. They are off to a exceptional start. Over the month of January, members attended a conference and a practice parliamentary procedure. Still to come, they will watch a rodeo and compete in the district's speaking contest. The Ellsworth FFA is ready for a noteworthy new year.
The Wisconsin FFA had its annual Half-Time Conference in Stevenś Point Friday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 12. Although January is the beginning of the year for most people, January is actually the midpoint of the FFA year. Half Time Conference serves to energize members for the second half of the year, ensuring that chapters finish the year as strong as they started it. Two members attended the conference. They were able to swap ideas with other chapters and learn new ones from the state FFA officers through workshops and discussions. The attendees were able to bring back the new ideas to their chapters.
On Thursday, Jan. 17, Parliamentary Procedure members travelled to Marshfield for a Parliamentary Procedure practice to prepare competitors for the real competition, reveal strengths and weaknesses, and alleviate anxiety at the real competitions. It was a beneficial experience.
On Friday, Jan. 25, Ellsworth FFA went to the World'ś Toughest Rodeo. The World'ś Toughest Rodeo is always thrilling and fun. Ellsworth FFA members had a great time together as a chapter.
On Jan. 28, the district speaking contests was held. Ellsworth FFA members have been practicing their speeches, demonstrations and studying. The district speaking contest determines which members will move on to the sectionals competition. Rather they continue on or not, members learn confidence and important public speaking skills.
