Ellsworth Library Notes: Libraries rock!
Readers of all ages will explore topics ranging from music to geology this summer as Ellsworth Public Library presents "Libraries Rock" as the theme for the summer library program. Activities include scavenger hunts, musical guests, art projects, science experiments and guest speakers, just to name a handful. For those participating in the two-month scavenger hunt, there will be weekly prize opportunities, as well as drawings for larger prizes on July 30. Registration begins June 2!
Along with our regular programs, additional events for kids and families are scheduled for Wednesdays at 1 p.m. These will feature dinosaur bones, juggling, music, animals, science, comedy and a pool party.
Monthly adult programs occur Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon with topics covering farming, pollinators, an author event, mental health, technology and music. Teens can use their imaginations creating life-size Candyland game pieces June 28 and exploring art stations July 9. For details on these programs and more, call the library at 715-273-3209 or visit www.ellsworthlibrary.org. All programs are free of charge.
The big kickoff event for the summer library program is Together Thursday, happening at 6 p.m. June 7 at East End Park. Brooke Elizabeth will perform (sponsored by the Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library), and the Ellsworth Lions Club will provide a free dinner and bouncy house. The Farmers Market will be in full swing as well. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
