WIAA D2 baseball: Dolan walk-off advances Cards

PRESCOTT -- Trailing 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs, Prescott was a strike away from seeing its season end.

Senior Zach Dolan had the bases loaded with a 3-2 count when he singled to give the Cardinals a 7-6 victory over Baldwin-Woodville in the WIAA D2 baseball regional semifinals Tuesday, May 30.

With the win, the Cardinals will play at Ellsworth on Wednesday, May 31 in the regional finals. Ellsworth won both meetings between the two teams in the regular season.

Dolan was 3-for-5 and junior Petey Brookshaw was 2-for-3 with a double.

Matt Langer started on the mound and pitched four innings. He gave up three earned runs, walked three batters and gave up five hits.

Andrew Rozmairek gave up three hits and threw 30 pitches in 1⅓ innings pitched.

Brookshaw finished the game and was the winning pitcher. He threw 20 pitches in 1⅔ innings pitched.
