SCVBL: Hubbers hand Pirates their first loss

PRESCOTT -- J.J. Paulson was 2-for-5 and drove in three runs for Ellsworth as the Hubbers defeated Prescott, 7-4, in St. Croix Valley Baseball League play Saturday, June 3. 

The Hubbers scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to pull away. 

Michael Lytle and Brandon Voelker were each 2-for-4 for the Pirates.

Plum City 8, New Richmond 5

The Blues committed four errors in the eighth inning as the host Millers cut the lead to 6-5. Plum City added three runs in the top of the ninth inning to finish off the victory Friday, June 2.

Jake Dunbar, Tony Garner and Tanner Eggenberger each had two hits each for the Blues

Garner pitched a complete game, giving up nine hits and striking out six batters.

Jon Will was 2-for-3 with two walks to lead New Richmond.

Elmwood 10, Bay City 6

Mike Blizel homered in the bottom of the eighth inning to cap off a four-run fourth for Elmwood in its victory over Bay City, Sunday, June 4. 

Blizel also had a double and a single. Brady Yanish threw 3⅓ innings in relief and was the winning pitcher. 

Dustin Frandrup and Jacob Helmer each had two hits for Bay City.
