St. Joseph Parish School

St. Joseph School in Prescott held an assembly to honor veterans on Monday, Nov. 12. There were about 40 veterans in attendance, many of whom have a child or grandchild at St. Joseph School. After a program that included an entrance with the flag, Pledge of Allegiance, singing by the students and each veteran introducing themselves, the vets were invited to have lunch with the students. Kindergarten through third grade students participated in a fire safety presentation given by firefighters Natalie and Rob from the Prescott Fire Department on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The students learned about what to do in case of a fire at home, where their safe meeting place is, what to do if they catch on fire, the importance of a smoke alarm and the importance of stopping and pulling over if in a car or on a bike when an emergency vehicle is present. In celebration of Constitution Day on Sept. 17, the fifth graders of St. Joseph Parish School in Prescott instructed all K-6 students about our country’s founding document - how it was created and what its main parts are.
