Irene Bergmark was born May 20, 1926 in Arkansaw to John and Georgena (Bignell) Thompson. She attended schools in Elmwood and Arkansaw. On Nov. 19, 1945, Irene married Alvin Bergmark from Pepin. Two children were born to them, Dona (Robert) Illrich and Jerome Bergmark (deceased). Irene loved to dance and that is where she met her future husband, at Kurt's Pavilion in Durand. As Alvin says, "We both liked the waltzes, and that sealed the deal!"

Bay City Harding-Darrington Bay City American Legion and Auxiliary will appear at the following: • 8 a.m. Esdaile Cemetery • 8:30 a.m. Hartland Methodist Cemetery • 9 a.m. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery • 9:30 a.m. Bay City lakeshore. Ellsworth Middle School band will play under the direction of Lisa Benz. Cub Scouts Pack No. 3 will also preside.

The charge stemmed from a Feb. 18 incident in River Falls. Tyler D. Gans, 20, River Falls, pleaded innocent and posted a $3,000 signature bond on criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct charges Feb. 20. The charges resulted from a Feb. 18 incident in River Falls.

The charges resulted from a Feb. 6 incident in Ellsworth.
The 2017-2018 school year has one quarter under its belt. Elmwood Middle School/High School has announced its first quarter honor roll students. They include: A Honor Roll Seniors: Simon Brown, Hannah Feuker, and Brendon Geraets. Juniors: Alyssa Peterson, Rowan Rupakus, Sophia Tiffany, and Alexia Waltz. Sophomores: Taylin DeLong, Katie Feuker, Mikena Geraets, Jackson Glampe, Kendra Kern, Madisen Klink, and Mathis Patigny. Freshmen: Brooklyn Link, Rachel Pfingsten, and Jacob Waltz.
Carl M. Balloy, 20, River Falls, pleaded innocent and posted a $2,000 signature bond on a resisting or obstructing an officer charge Oct. 2. The charge resulted from a Sept. 30 incident in Prescott. Demetria M. Doneth, 17, River Falls, pleaded innocent and posted a $500 signature bond on retail theft — after price and resisting or obstructing an officer charges Oct. 3. The charges stemmed from an Oct. 2 incident in River Falls.
Donald M. Bale, 63, Pine Island, Minnesota, posted a $4,000 signature bond on a felony OWI — fourth charge Spet. 25. The charge resulted in a Sept. 24 incident in the town of Ellsworth. Tiara M. Bell, 27, Eagan, Minnesota, posted a $1,500 signature bond on a felony possession of narcotics charge Sept. 25. The charge stemmed from a Sept. 23 incident in the town of Diamond Bluff.
